I’m starting this forum because I can’t remember what happens in the last two books. I read all of the books two years ago and didn’t reread them. I can only remember the biggest details (and even those are very vague in my mind so feel free to recap me on those.). I just finished rereading books 1 & 2. I’ve been reading the forums here and that just got me more curious. So people, spoilers PLEASE!

Do you mean the green ember series of the Wingfeather saga? Or another series, cause I would be happy to tell you spoilers from either book.

Kylie, you’re funny! Don’t you want to reread them? 😉
April 30, 2020 at 1:44 pm #47160JazzyfreshGuest
I would be happy to give you some spoilers, are you sure?
April 30, 2020 at 2:13 pm #47171Kylie WingfeatherGuest
I’m sure 🙂 I can’t get the books from the library because of covid-19. Otherwise I would definitely reread them.
April 30, 2020 at 2:16 pm #47174Kylie WingfeatherGuest
I mean Monster in the Hollows and The Warden and the Wolf King.
April 30, 2020 at 2:34 pm #47182OREOGuest
Dang-it you got my hopes up, unfortunately I haven’t read monster in the hollows or warden and the wolf king cause of the covid19
April 30, 2020 at 2:49 pm #47194Kylie WingfeatherGuest
That’s sad 🙁

I have the last two books on kindle and would gladly spoil anything for you guys! I am not sure if they are still available on kindle, but it’s worth checking on.
April 30, 2020 at 5:23 pm #47221Kylie WingfeatherGuest
Thank you Wingiby. I don’t think we have kindle though.

Just let me know what you want spoiled, and I shall do my best in the art of spoilery!

You can just spoil the whole book. It’s not really spoiling any way because I’ve already read them before, it’s just been a while.

Ok, here is a brief synopsis of book 3:
The Wingfeathers get to Ban Rona, in the Green Hollows. The Hollowsfolk are suspicious of Kalmar, however, and throw him in a dungeon. When they hold the meeting to discuss the “fang,” Artham reveals his wings, but then starts to babble and rant. He leaves the Hollows, because the people there were trying to kill him. Nia asks for turaley, and it is granted; so now if Kalmar disobeys and gets punished, she gets punished with him.
They go to eat at an inn, and there they meet Bonifer Sqoon, who tells them they can come and stay with him at Nia’s old house.
The next day, school starts. The boys join the Durgan Guild, and Leeli joins the houndry. Of course, there is trouble because of Kalmar’s fur.
Anyway, one night they see a cloven in the yard! Janner is afraid, because of what it said (I hope I am not being too sparse, just giving a bird’s eye view).
Rudric and another Durgan guard the house – Nia ends up falling for Rudric, and they were supposed to get married.
School continues, and it is getting better. The one night, Janner realizes Kalmar isn’t in bed. He follows his brother’s tracks, and finds him hiding behind a chicken coop with a dead chicken. Kalmar is ashamed, and wants to show Janner something.
They come to a cave, where the boys had explored earlier. In it is the cloven they saw from the window. He is wounded from arrows, and Kalmar was caring for him. He tells the cloven to stay till that night, then he must leave.
The boys exit the cave, only to be surrounded by Gregory Bunge and his mates. Janner throws himself on Kalmar to keep him from attacking the other’s, which would have been very bad.
They are taken, as well as Nia, Leeli, and Podo. Then, they are put in the dungeon, each in separate cells. Of course, Rudric is away patrolling, and none other than Gregory’s father is in charge during Rudric’s absence.
The trial commences, and Kalmar is found guilty of theft. Then murder. The Wingfeather’s maid had lost her daughter, and was sure that Kalmar was the one who took her. Bonifer Sqoon arrives at this moment, along with Oscar. They had forged a document saying that it was a crime to kill royalty, and you must exile them instead. Bunge ignores this, however, and the gallows is set up. Nia and Kalmar are led to it, and the ropes are lowered around their necks.
Then, the cloven arrives, carrying the maid’s daughter. He collapsed out of weariness; and all of a sudden, everything is chaos. Fangs arrive. Bonifer had alerted them, and was now trying to kidnap the Jewels for Gnag.
But as Janner is being led away by a Fang, he looks into the Cloven’s eyes and realizes that it is Esben. “Papa!” Janner tears away from the Fang and collapses at Esben’s head with Kalmar and Leeli. Leeli begins to sing My Love Has Gone Across the Sea.
Meanwhile, in Skree: Sara Cobbler leads the children at the Fork Factory against The Overseer and Mobrik. With the help of some Maintenance Manager’s, the children kill some Fangs and defeat their captors. When in the courtyard of the factory, Sara meet’s Gammon, and then Artham.
He flies her to where they were staying – doing what Janner asked him too, finding Sara. Maraly greets them, but then Artham cries out and falls to the ground. He heard Leeli’s song.
Back in the Hollows, the children were torn from Esben and taken to a ship. They learn of Bonifer’s hatred for Anneira and her kings.
Esben hears Artham in his head, telling him to sing the song for love, not power. The cloven sings, and Esben is transformed into a great golden bear. He embraces Nia, but Rudric thinks he is hurting her, and drives his sword into Esben’s belly.
Esben races after the children, however, blood streaming from his wound. He bounds across the ships, but then collapses on the last one. Nia begs him to get up, and he launches himself into the rowboat where a couple of Fangs and Bonifer are rowing the children away. He kills the Fangs, and Bonifer jumps overboard.
Nia joins them, and together they hug the bear king. In the last few moments they spend with their father, Leeli plays her whistleharp.
When Esben dies, however, his body does not turn to dust. When they row the boat back to the dock, all the Hollows folk are waiting. Rudric bows before Kalmar, and like a true king, he accepts his apology.
The Green Hollows now prepares for war against Gnag the Nameless.
This was from memory, so I hope it tells you all you need.

It was. Thank you! 🙂

One question: Who is Thorn? I’ve been reading different forums and I have come across his name several times. I have also gathered he has a crush on Leeli and lives in the Green Hollows.
May 5, 2020 at 7:45 pm #47696Wingiby IggibyGuest
Thorn: one of the four sons of the master of the houndry in Ban Rona. He befriends Leeli, and yeah, he likes her. He is ‘real’ good at dogspeak!
May 7, 2020 at 3:09 pm #47881Kylie WingfeatherGuest
Two more questions: What is Turalay? And again, I was reading around the sight and I came across the word blindplopping. I assume it has something to do with the last two books because it’s not in On the Edge of the Dark Sea of Darkness or North! Or Be Eaten.

Turalay: By asking for turalay, Nia bound herself to Kalmar; so now if he disobey’s, she gets punished with him. It was an ancient tradition, and was respected. It basically made sure that the person under question would control themselves, otherwise the other would get punished with them.
Blindplopping: The Durgan tradition that on your thirteenth birthday you were fed thirteen muffins, the last one containing a drug that made you sleep. Now, you were carried off and dumped somewhere in the wilderness; and you had to find your way back home. Once you did, you had completed your training. It happens to Janner in The Warden and the Wolf King.

I would freak out if I was blindplopped. It’s good we don’t live in the Green Hollows because next year I turn thirteen. In winter. So I would probably freeze to death.
May 9, 2020 at 9:38 am #48039Wingiby iggybiGuest
Ha ha! I know! Janners birthday was in winter too!

May 9, 2020 at 3:50 pm #48070Kylie WingfeatherGuest
Actually, I kind of remember that. Sort-of.
May 9, 2020 at 3:54 pm #48072Kinnan WingfeatherGuest
Technically, Janner was only blindplopped at thirteen because he was a Throne Warden and Guildmaster Clout thought he was ready. Most were blindplopped at fourteen or fifteen. 🙂 Just thought I’d point that out. 🙂
May 9, 2020 at 4:19 pm #48082Kylie WingfeatherGuest
Even though I am a Throne Warden to my seven almost eight year old younger sister, no one in their right mind would think I was ready to be blindplopped if we lived in the Green Hollows.

And another question I forgot to ask: Who is Baxter? I know he is Leeli’s dog, but that’s about all I know.
May 11, 2020 at 12:42 pm #48210Wingiby IggibyGuest
Baxter: yeah, he was Leeli’s dog; given to her by Thorn’s dad if I remember right. Leeli sent Baxter after Janner when he was blind-plopped, and the dog ended up returning wounded after Janner told him to go. This was when Oood came into the story and carried Janner off.
Baxter ended up recovering, but he never did play as big a part as Nugget. Here I post a sad face: 🙁
I hope that helped!
May 11, 2020 at 3:58 pm #48243Kylie WingfeatherGuest
It did. Thank you!
May 12, 2020 at 6:06 am #48306Kylie WingfeatherGuest
Who is Oood?
May 13, 2020 at 12:42 pm #48446Wingiby IggibyGuest
Oood: The troll that Janner saved from the ridgerunners, and who in turn saved them several times.
Oood liked troll poetry, and recieted it to the boys for as long as he could. Unwittingly, it saved them when Janner and Kalmar were escaping Castle Throg. They earned the guard trolls trust, so they helped them escape.
Oood also saved them from a hoard of angry cloven, but then supposedly died. But Kalmar gave him water from the first well (without knowing it) and Oood lived. Oood later led an army of Cloven to their assisstance against Gnag.
I hope this helped!

How did Tink give him water from the first well without knowing it?
May 13, 2020 at 4:38 pm #48484Wingiby IggibyGuest
kalmar had found the water, but he thought it was just ordinary water. They were in the Blackwood, and he had no idea the well was right there.

I have some news: I finally listened to The Monster in the Hollows! And my dad got The Warden and the Wolf King, so I’m going to listen to that soon too. So I guess this forum is not needed anymore. Y’all can use it though if you’re like me and didn’t reread the series after the first time and now can only remember certain parts. Have fun!
May 17, 2020 at 11:48 am #48821Kylie WingfeatherGuest
P.S. I’ll drop in from time to time and spoil some stuff too. 🙂
May 17, 2020 at 12:01 pm #48823Kylie WingfeatherGuest
P.P.S. I know who Madame Sidler is in the books now! And I have to agree (No offense Madame Sidler!) with Oskar. She is creepy! I would drop my huge stack of books and get in big trouble if she snuck up on me 🙂
May 17, 2020 at 12:36 pm #48830Wingiby IggibyGuest
Ha ha! I totally agree, Kylie! I loved it when in the books you know where she is by people jumping and dropping their books! Hysterical!

Ok. It’s taking me a little longer for me too read/listen to The Warden and the Wolf King than I thought, so spoilers for the last book are welcome.
July 7, 2020 at 7:42 am #51089Kylie WingfeatherGuest
Bye everyone. Thank you for both the spoilers and the friendship. May we meet in person one day (and actually realize it 🙂). Bye!
July 7, 2020 at 8:20 am #51090Wingiby iggybiGuest
Your welcome, Kylie! It has been good knowing you and writing with you! I do hope that we can either meet in person, or even again online! And yes, hopefully we will know who we are talking too!! 😉
