BUY

Direct from the publisher

People ask me all the time: “Do you work out?”

Answer: Define “work out.”

They also ask: “Where’s the best place to buy The Wingfeather Saga?”

Answer: If you want the author to get the biggest cut, buy it from his website (this is true of musicians, too). But if you buy it new at Amazon or Barnes & Noble, that’s good, too. Buying it from another merchant means the sale is tracked, and if a ton of sales are tracked, other merchants notice, and newspapers report on it, and before you know it I’m writing my next book from a space yacht. If you don’t want me to get a cut of the money and you want to save a few bucks, by all means, buy it used somewhere. It’s not ideal, but if you’re reading the books I’m happy. I don’t write these things to make money. I write them to be read. I should point out, however, that unless you’re J.K. Rowling or Rick Riordan you aren’t in any danger of buying a space yacht. Paying the mortgage is a monthly cause for gratitude and wonder. That said, the best place to get it is through my webstore at the Rabbit Room, or at my concerts and book events. Sign up for my mailing list at the main website here, and we’ll let you know when I’m coming to town.

Hi Moriah. Sadly, boxed sets will not be available in the foreseeable future. See our FAQ on the full series in hardcover. ๐Ÿ™

      Ulanda, can I help you?

Pembrick’s Creaturepedia was a limited run produced for the Warden and the Wolf King Kickstarter. They’ve sold out, and there isn’t a plan to reprint them. I know a lot of people would be interested, though. We will definitely make sure to let everyone know if another print run happens. Meanwhile, you can get it on Kindleโ€”not the same, but easy to carry around. ๐Ÿ™‚ Hope that helps!

Our bookbindery guildmaster hopes to have a paperback in your hands around the end of this year or beginning of next!

That is a great question. I’ll have to check with the bookbindery guild. It’s wonderful to hear how much your son loves the books!

      Lynn,

I’ve heard back from the guildmaster. It seems that another bookbindery (WaterBrook/Random House) owns the rights to the first two in the series. Unless they release the rights, our guildmaster can’t create hardcover versions. We’re all disappointed about this, too. It might be worth dropping WaterBrook a note to let them know you’d like hardcovers.

Meanwhile, here are some librarian tricks for you: If the book’s spine begins to come apart, you can use a neutral pH white glue to mend it. Squeeze a tiny bit into the spine, close the cover and press it all up and down with your thumb to distribute the glue, wrap a rubber band or two around it to hold it still, and put it under a weight until the glue dries. Here are some instructions with illustrations. And you can use clear plastic film such as Con-Tact to reinforce a paperback cover. If you end up replacing those well-loved paperbacks, you can do this proactively to help them last longer.

I just love your books! I haven’t finished The Warden and the Wolf King yet, but I am scrounging my free time for time. Thanks so much for these books, and you definitely should write more. My favorite character is Sara Cobbler because of her amazing courage to lead all those captives from slavery. It inspires me to bring others to Christ. Thank you!

We’ve been borrowing them from the library. I promise we will buy all of the Wingfeather Saga books from your site once you finish the fourth one and sell them as a boxed set! We have started our own little fan club for your books and have at least 3 other families hooked. ๐Ÿ™‚

My wife, Wendy, bought the 1st 2 books for me and they started to collect dust after I read the 1st few chapters and was reminded I’m not a big fan of fantasy and the world that has to be created early on. I picked it back up as a means of putting my daughter, Tyler Rose, to bed and we both enjoyed the short chapters and happily marched through the 1st book into the 2nd. I realized I was hooked when I took the book to bed and finished reading 2nd book by myself, selfishly, over the next week, staying up well past midnight before work. On several occassions, my daughter caught me reading it without her and gave me an earful. Can’t wait to get into the 3rd story. Great storytelling, Andrew.

I just want you to know, Andrew, that it’s your fault my wife and I have been spending the last couple weeks walking around like zombies at work and always need an afternoon nap. We decided to read “On the Edge…” together every night in bed before going to sleep. At first we thought we would read one chapter a night and work through the book slowly. Then we would read two chapters if the one left us hanging. By now, however, we are reading without acknowledging the chapter breaks at all until one of us says, “we need to stop.” I have loved your musical storytelling for years and I am just as inspired by your written storytelling. We thank you, and our future children thank you, and so do our grandkids. Maybe one of them will be named Leeli, or Janner.
