
Every year, April 25th is known as World Malaria Day.
Living in a Western culture, it sounds like something to remember in honoring the success of the past. Something like Malaria is not a 1st world problem. It is however, a serious threat in many other parts of the world!
- Did you know that Malaria is the fourth leading cause of death?
- Or that more than 1,800 children under 5 die each day from malaria?
- But, if universal malaria prevention can be achieved by 2010 and maintained until 2015, an estimated 2.95 million African children’s lives can be saved!
