It turns out, the situation is just as brutal as ever, as we learn about the slave trade being conducted by the Islamic State (IS or ISIS).

It’s been a while since I had seen anything in the news about the situation in Iraq.
It turns out, the situation is just as brutal as ever, as we learn about the slave trade being conducted by the Islamic State (IS or ISIS).
I’ve always thought of foreign aid as being more safe than the military. It makes sense, right? The purpose of the military is to shoot each other until someone dies, whereas the purpose of foreign aid cargo is to help the weak and helpless. Sure, foreign aid has its own risks, but in general, it has always seemed ‘safer’ to me.
Now with the conflict in the Middle East and the rise of ISIS has made these acts of love more dangerous the being in the military could ever be.
Having lived overseas, I’ve learned that my concept and idea of the world was far too simplistic. Perhaps it’s the United State’s separation from so much of the world geographically that made this happen or I just didn’t pay attention.
We take a closer look at religious persecution in Eritrea, Pakistan, Turkey, California and the Middle East.
She’s only 23 years old and Afghanistan rapper, Soosan Firooz, is raising her voice in a most unique way. Now people are listening as she puts her life in danger each and every day.
Yes, that’s right, I said a female rapper in Afghanistan.

The conflict in the middle east, between Palestine and Israel, is not a new story by any stretch of the imagination.
It is a conflict that has divided families, and incited brother against brother. The destruction and devastation caused by this conflict is unimaginable to those of us living far away in primarily peaceful Western countries. Open Doors USA recently issued a statement that makes it clear that the conflict has also caused a saddening division even amongst the body of Christ.
