Another victory in the fight against sex trafficking in the United States, as two men and one woman are arrested for having run a ‘high-end’ brothel in Irvine California:
“Two men — Gin Woo Park, 41, and Heung Soon Kim, 56, both of Los Angeles — leased an apartment in Irvine, and they, along with a woman — Miyoun Kim, 56, of Newport Beach — are accused of turning it into a brothel and “inducing several female victims” to have sex for money, the prosecutor’s office said.”
It may be a surprise to some that a women would be arrested for being involved in sex trafficking, but women play a huge part in trafficking. In Italy, for example, prostitution is legal, so ‘Madams’ are relied on to watch over the girls on the street and ‘mentor’ them into the business.
Chalk this up as a sex trafficking victory and a reminder that sex traffickers are not only men.
