Dear friends, flabbits, and Featherheads, we come to the end of the Shining Isle Q&A videos. In this one, Chris wraps up the time at Hutchmoot ’18 to talk about what’s next for the Saga. No spoilers here, but a big update!
Did you guys catch that? MOVIES. Five of them.
What do you all think?
Any updates on the movies?
Seems like things have gone dark.
Hope things progress with the movie and/or show
Hey guys! There’s always work going on behind the scenes. 🙂 Not a lot that makes for exciting news lately, though. But! The hardcover reprints of books 3-4 are soon to arrive! It’s been so great to see the reception the new editions are receiving.
Judging by the Q&A during the readalong, we don’t know if there are going to be movies or not. It sounded like Andrew Peterson would prefer a tv/streaming series instead.
I’ve been a big fan of many shows, and I think that Vancouver would be the best place to find some voices – there are tons of brilliant voice actors there, and I think I know who’d be PERFECT for Artham…
Also as far as animation goes, have you contacted DHX Media (now known as WildBrain)? They’re really good at 2D & 3D animation, and have even mixed the two. (They do shows like Ninjago (Season 11 onwards), Charlie Brown, & (I hate the show, but the animation is good) the new Inspector Gadget…
When are they coming???
Hey Dave! Here’s an update from Andrew:
“Things continue to move (slowly) forward with the film. Good meetings, good connections, just waiting for the right partners. Making movies, it turns out, is HARD. In the meantime, it helps a ton to keep spreading the word about the books, about the short film, etc. The more fans and readers, the better!”
Oh wow. This is gonna be epic. GO SHINING ISLE PRODUCTIONS!
Thanks so much for answering my question! I wasn’t expecting to get an answer straight from the producer. 🙂
You’re very welcome! I’m glad he was available. It’s so great when we can get real-time updates. 🙂
I would love to see some better animation. The short film was awesome, but it could have been better. The kids seemed too young. And Tink wasn’t afraid of heights–important–. And Janner didn’t fall into a pile of Danny’s nuggets–very important–. I’d love to see some movies with every detail! Can’t wait for them to come out!
Oh my gosh! This is so exciting! I have been a huge Wingfeather Saga fan for the past four years, and I can’t wait to see the Igibys on the big screen. One quick question though. Do you know if they will be using the same type of animation that we saw in the short film? Or will it be something completely different? It’s totally ok if you don’t know the answer to this, or if you do know but can’t say, I was just wondering.
Hi Gryffindor Girl! I asked Chris, our producer, and here’s his reply:
EEEEK!!!!!! I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOREVER!!!!! 😀
OH MY IGIBY! I have been patiently waiting for this for forever! So excited!
I don’t know what to say. This is incredibly exciting. My sister is squealing/squeaking (squealking?) next to me. Have been waiting for this for years!
I am squealking right along with you!
