Amnesty International is considering to support the decriminalization of sex work.
In other words, they want to make it legal to sell sex.
Here’s a typical argument for legalized prostitution.
I believe this is not the answer.
I’ve seen what legalized prostitution does.
It’s a machine for trafficking.
In fact, in can compound the problem.
- Government employment agencies aid in recruitment.
- Government health care dollars insure ‘product’ is ‘safe’ and ‘clean.’
- And you know what else?
We all have those days, right?
So when those young women who get the bait-and-switch upon arriving to a foreign nation, who are “taken care of” because legalized prostitution has granted them certain “human rights,” what do you say to them after they’ve been exploited and used up because society has decided that buying sex is an appropriate activity?
Let me tell you what you say.
You say that the “right” of a privileged man to pay for sex and the “right” of a women who finds no other means to earn a dollar, is more important than the coercion they’ve experienced.
