It’s been said about the abortion issue and I’ll say it will happen with human trafficking.
Kathy Schiffer said it best in her blog post that she shared the following video of a lobbyist’s testimony about post-birth abortion:
“And that’s how you boil a frog.”
She’s quoting George Barna from the book The Frog in the Kettle as he uses the boiling of a frog as a metaphor of our culture. Drop a frog in boiling water and it will jump out. Place him in cold water and a gradually warm it up, and before you know it, he’s boiled–powerless to escape.
Honestly, there’s no other way to explain this kind of ridiculous question dodging:
Alisa Laport Snow Testimony
Good, frickin’, grief.
Is this lady for real?
From the YouTube description:
“Alisa Laport Snow, the lobbyist representing the Florida Alliance of Planned Parenthood Affiliates, testified that her organization believes the decision to kill an infant who survives a failed (botched) abortion should be left up to the woman seeking an abortion and her abortion doctor.”
Just as the “right” to abort has embedded into our culture, who’s to say the same won’t happen with human trafficking. When does pornography, the de-humanization of women and the rise of promiscuity and sexualization reach such a level that everyone’s okay with it?
It may seem far fetched, today, but the fight against human trafficking tomorrow starts today.
I’m just not sure wheat where going to do about the fight for life. It seriously feels like a lost battle, but we must not give up.
