I was a little shocked when I read this news story.
“Brazilian prostitutes and a Christian evangelical group played a football match Saturday in World Cup host city Belo Horizonte, taking over a central street to raise awareness about sex workers’ rights.”
While treating prostitutes with love, grace and compassion is something a ‘Christian evangelical’ group should be doing, supporting them in their efforts is something they should not be doing.
Again, we see the further promotion of prostitution as a viable and legitimate means of earning a wage. This twisted idea that legalizing prostitution is ’empowering’ and brings greater ‘equality’ of the sexes is a dangerous farce. Not only is it demeaning for a women to sell their body in this way, it is demeaning to all women who are in a relationship with men who pay for these services!
For anyone to say they would be ‘proud’ of their sister or daughter becoming a prostitute is either a liar or have bought in to a lie. What kind of future does a prostitute have? What kind of diseases is she exposed to? Not to mention the emotional damage that occurs? How long will the masses stay silent on this issue?
It seems like what the world really wants is to justify bad behavior and wrap up wrongdoing in ideologies of ‘rights’ and ‘equality’, despite the fact that legalized prostitution accelerates the eroding of a cultures moral fiber.
