It’s an awful thought that military service men and women are having religious liberties stripped away while trying to defend these same liberties the rest of us are currently enjoying.
Again, we see a hostility towards Christianity specifically, while having tolerance for everything else, and now it’s coming from the very top–the Obama Administration speaks out on the issue of religious liberty in the military:
“The Obama Administration “strongly objects” to a proposed amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act on Wednesday that would have protected the religious rights of soldiers – including evangelical Christian service members who are facing growing hostility towards their religion.”
The Obama Administration says the amendment would have, “significant adverse effect on good order, discipline, morale, and mission accomplishment.”
How can this rationale be applied to this:
“…an Air Force officer who was told to remove a Bible from his desk because it might give the impression he was endorsing a religion.”
Since when is religion suppose to be separated from our public life? Even homosexuals are no longer forced to keep quiet about their personal preferences. Why should religion have different rules?
I would imagine that removing God from US currency and from the Pledge of Allegiance is the next phase of rinsing religion from National institutions. These are simply outward actions of a heart that’s already turned from acknowledging God.
