Human rights lawyer Bryan Stevenson talks tough about the American justice system.
This is eye-opening:

As I hear Bryan Stevenson talk about the American justice system and hear about the brutality that prison can be, I am left bewildered as to why more hasn’t been done to reform the prison system.
All I can do is chaulk it up to the fact that people don’t care because it doesn’t affect them; and when they do hear aboutit, they think: “Then you shouldn’t break the law.”
And while I understand why humans reacted this way, I look at the Church and wonder what would happen if we were caring for those in prisons as the Apostle Paul has outlined. Wouldn’t there be more people who cared about these men and women? There would not only more people concerned about the state of our justice system, but there would be more people trying to invoke change in the lives of those who have crashed up onto the rocky shore of life.
