GuestDoes anyone have any thoughts on Pembrick’s Creaturepedia? I’ll start. I love the Gunkees! Ever since reading the Creaturepedia I have wanted to see one. Anyone else?

GuestI’ll confess, the entry about the Gunkee set my mind racing with all kinds of potential stories. Glad you liked him, too! #LifelongCompanion

Guestsinging “If it doesn’t have a tail it’s not a Gunkee, even if it has a Gunkee kind of shape…”

GuestWhile I love the tailhanded thwap and the oiple and the squeeblin, I think my very favorite is the Thwapperfly. I want one, in spite of the malicious gleam in their eyes.

GuestI loved the chorkney (used to pretend I was one :P) and I LOOOOVE the spike-eared vargax. I have a friend who’s extremely artistically talented and used this talent to draw a life-size Glaggish troll and a life-size snickbuzzard, both of which are extraordinarily well done and help me realize just how big these things are in real life :O Frightening. Especially trying to imagine how he sleeps with these horrible creations in his room!

GuestOhh life size! The artist in me is thrilled with the idea. On the other hand, I might have to choose them carefully if I were going to put them in my room. I don’t want all my dreams to be about snickbuzzards and their bizzare belly buttons. Meeps (dancing if I can just figure out what a gumpkin is that would help) and Chorkneys and of course Nugget might be fine though.

GuestI know this is an old topic, but It’s the best place I could find to ask my question.
Is their anywhere that I can get a physical copy of Pembrick’s Creaturepedia? I found a kindle edition on Amazon, but no actual books. Nothing on Ebay either. -

KeymasterSorry, Danniby. They are all gone. ๐ I just did a quick search at a few online used booksellers and couldn’t find them anywhere (Alibris, Abe Books, Book Finder). There was no plan to reprint them, but I keep hoping anyway. A lot of people want them.

GuestFirst off, to borrow the words of Oskar N. Reteep, “This Tome is Stupendously Indibnible!” So funny after having read “The Wooing of Sophelia Stupe.”
So does a gunkee have a tail like a monkey (I love the song, Mary)? Also, does anyone know if the raggant is a direct allusion to another book, or is it just a mysterious creature from another world?SPOILER:
After seeing the tailhanded thwap, I realized what Mother Mungry of Clovenfast was melded with, though I’m not sure why Gnag would do that…Was a Dangish or Plonst creaturepedia ever written? If so, I would love to see it.

KeymasterThe raggant is a 100 Cupboards allusion. ๐
Ollister B. Pembrick wrote ten whole volumes of his Creaturepediae, but only the Skreean one has made it to your world thus far. I am really hoping for a Plonst edition myself.
