Encyclopedia Aerwiarica

August 10, 2020 Madame Sidler 8 Comments

Greetings, Featherheads! I know there hasn’t been a lot going on at the site here in the last few weeks, but there has been work going on behind the scenes. Cool stuff is happening. 🙂 This week I’ve been back at the Great Library, working on some research for the new website. (I’m tying this message to the left leg of a carrier midgeon and instructing it to deliver to the Dimensional Depot—location top secret—because the wifi here is poor, and by poor I mean not yet invented. From there it will be delivered to a dimension with internet and then uploaded onto this site.)

From the above allusion to top-secret depotings, you may realize there are many things you’d like to know about Aerwiar but do not. There are also many things I’d like to know about Aerwiar (such as the fate of the lost colony of Sidgelow, or the connection between shadhaunch and shadberries). There are many things I’d like to know about your world as well, but one thing at a time. For right now, I am compiling information on Aerwiar. You will notice, if you click Encyclopedia in the menu above, that it only goes through H. This must be remedied! But there are so many things to compile in this world or in any world, and all of it is interesting. One must be selective when researching.

What sort of things would you like to know? I cannot promise answers to every question, but with the week I have here I will do my best.

I think it would be cool to have a page about how to play Ships and Sharks.

Hello! I thought it over for a bit and here’s a few things I would love to know about Aerwiar! I am not sure how exactly these would be classified alphabetically, but here goes:

    1) What is the history of Gammon’s rebels in Kimera? How long have they been an organized rebellion?
    2) Some deep lore surrounding the founding/settlement/establishment of The Green Hollows, please! Such as, what was the very first Bannick Durga like and who participated?
    3) I would love somewhat developed backstories for some of Sara’s orphans!
    4) What became of Dugtown after the war? I’d be intrigued to know how Dugtown’s relationship with Torrborro evolved over the epochs.
    5) Something more in-detail about Wendolyn could be really cool.
    6) Did anyone ever live in the Igiby Cottage after the Wingfeathers left?
    7) This is definitely the most important and weirdest question I have-

Can we get some information about how to play the Hollish game of Trounce (see book one, page 63) like we have descriptions for Ships and Sharks as well as Tackleball?? I really want to play Trounce in all its brutal simplicity!

Thanks for listening to our questions, Madame! I cannot wait for the new site launch!

Great ideas, everyone! That gives me a number of places to start on items beginning with R and S especially. What shall we include for I through P? T through Z?

    1. What happened to the descendents of the Ridgerunners who followed Janner’s instructions to go to the shoe-shaped lake?
    2. (I know you can’t, but) what happened in the future of King Kalmar’s reign?
    3. Was the island rebuilt by song, as implied?
    4. More about the dragons?

(I say this having not read the Wingfeather tales…)

    5. What kind of toys do kids in Skree have? (I know the hollowsfolk just use mountains to throw at each other – exaggeration, I know, but still, that’s the basic idea, and they would if they could!)

    6. Origin of the Stranders?

    7. Stories from Fingap Falls?

Best I could think of off the top of my head… 😉

How about the origins of Skree? What about the rangers of Glipwood? Where did the the Stranders come from? Where they Skreean, or where they a band renegade settlers?

Cool! Who did Artham really like, Alma Rainwater or Arundelle? Can we get deeper into the melding process? What about legends of Aerwiar? Just a few ideas. 🙂
