David Platt from The Church of Brook Hills reminds us that the absence of religious liberty and the persecuted church is something that effects the entire Body of Christ:
“We’ve got brothers and sisters in Christ that are suffering and don’t have religious liberty on a number of different levels. When one part of the body suffers, we suffer. We need to know their stories and come alongside them when we can, and have them know that we are praying for them if that’s at all possible.”
As someone who is a showing the love of Christ in Italy, I can tell you that what Platt is saying is so true. While converting from Catholicism, many converts experience a severe cutting-off from their family. While this is nothing like losing your life—like so many other countries around the word—it is still a suffering worth addressing.
David Platt outlines so succinctly why we address persecution on Finding Justice.
