Boko Haram has claimed responsibility for the latest attacks against Christians in villages of Nigeria.
Most recently, hundreds armed with guns and machetes stormed a dozen villages, killing at least 58 people.
Boko Haram leader, Abul Qaqa said,
“We thank God for our success in the attack on Christians at Barikin Ladi and Riyom, whereby security agents, Christians, and two state and national assembly members were killed.”
And the violence will continue.
“We are also informing Christians all over the country to embrace Islam or they will be attacked. If they fail to do so, there is nobody to blame but themselves.”
Boko Haram must be declared a terrorist organization!
As we report these attack on the IHRG, I am torn as how to categorize stories like this. Although it is certainly persecution, it could just as easily fall under religious freedom.
Isn’t that what persecution ultimately comes down to?
